- Steering Committee application was opened and members were submitted and selected (pending notification)
- 1st Steering Committee meeting goal, begin to plan the internal application for potential community school site
- The Community Schools planning team visited Anaheim Union High School District to learn best practices and tour a high school campus
- Created an Information Graphic based on district Steering Committee applications
- Community Schools planning teams collaborated with the San Diego Unified Community Schools leadership team to learn best practices
- SUHSD Planning Team attended the South Bay Community Schools Collaborative
- Started to meet with the administration teams at the potential SUHSD schools to begin community outreach
- Presentation to DELAC / DPAC about Community Schools and the Steering Committee application
- Presented to SUHSD Counselors during PLC Day
- Virtual SEA presentation with guest speakers from San Diego Unified and Chula Vista Elementary School District
March Update 2024
- Steering Committee Members – Official announcement of members will be at the next School Board meeting 4/15/2023
- District Community Schools Steering Committee Meeting #1 – 04/23/2024 * This meeting is for selected district steering committee members only
- As of 3.15.2024 , 11 out of the 12 potential Community School sites have been visited to deepen the understanding with their administration and to schedule presentations at staff meetings or coffee with the principal
